Possible Problem: Cassette inserted is record protected.

Answer: Symptom: No Playback. Possible
Problem: Tape. Note: Check that the actual magnetic tape in the cassette is
laying flat on top of the heads.
Question: Keeps Stopping
Answer: Symptom: Unit keeps stopping.
Possible Problem: Voice Activation is on. Note: The recorder will activate and
start and stop automatically with the voice activation feature.
Question: Dead Unit
Answer: Symptom: The unit is dead. Possible
Problem: Batteries. Note: Batteries will last less than 10 hours in some models.
Question: Clipping of
Selective Words
Answer: Symptom: The unit is clipping off
selective words. Possible Problem: Voice Activation is on. Note: The recorder
will activate and start and stop automatically with the voice activation
feature.
Question: Buzzing Unit
Answer: Symptom: The unit is buzzing.
Possible Problem: Batteries.
Question: Beeping Unit
Answer: Symptom: The unit is beeping and
then it stops. Possible Problem: Batteries; Or the tape has reached the end –
turn the tape over. Note: Batteries will last less than 10 hours in some models.
